Our mission is practical financial clarity
BillForecast was built to make budgeting, recurring bills, and forward planning easier to understand without sacrificing privacy.
Our Story
BillForecast started from a simple frustration: too many personal finance tools either hide useful features behind pricing walls, expect full bank-link access, or make forward planning harder than it needs to be.
We built BillForecast to keep the essentials together: transactions, budgets, recurring bills, receipts, and future balance planning. The product is privacy-first, manual-first where that improves control, priced clearly through Stripe, and built with no ads, no third-party analytics, and no banking-credential handoff. Read our privacy policy to see how we protect your data.
BillForecast is designed for people who want clearer budgeting and forecasting without turning personal finance into a second job. Check out the feature set, visit the cash-flow forecast solution, or browse frequently asked questions to learn more.
Editorial principles
Personal finance is a category where bad advice causes real damage. BillForecast is a tool, not a financial advisor — but everything we write about money on this site follows the same rules so the product, the documentation, and the blog stay coherent.
- No autopilot decisions. The forecast, budget suggestions, smart categorization, and recurring-bill workflow always show you the proposed change before it touches your data. Confirmation lives with the user, not the software.
- Manual-first where it matters. We do not require bank linking. The forecast is built from balances and recurring commitments you enter, so you can see exactly which numbers drive each projection.
- No ads, no third-party analytics, no data resale. Pro billing through Stripe is the entire business model — your finance data is never the product.
- Schema mismatch is a quality signal. Features listed on this site and in our search snippets match what actually ships. We do not claim capabilities the product does not deliver.
- No financial advice. Articles, FAQs, and in-app guidance describe how to use the tool. We do not recommend specific investments, debt strategies, or tax positions — that is your decision to make with the right advisor.
When we publish guidance — blog posts, solution pages, the FAQ — every claim about how the product behaves is fact-checked against the running app. If something changes in the product, we update the page rather than letting old advice linger.
How we make product decisions
BillForecast is an independently-built product. Every shipped feature has to earn its place against three questions:
- Does it make the next bill or next month easier to plan? If a feature does not improve forward visibility, recurring-bill clarity, or safe-to-spend awareness, it is not core.
- Can a careful user run it without surprises? Approval workflows, preview-then-save, and the offline-replay queue exist because finance changes should never feel accidental.
- Does it preserve privacy by default? Cloud LLM integration, third-party telemetry, and any data-sharing surface is opt-in only and disclosed before activation.
For product feedback, bug reports, or questions about the methodology behind a specific feature, the fastest path is the contact page. Security disclosures go to security@billforecast.app.
Our Values
These product principles shape every public page and workflow we ship
Local-First AI by Default
AI processing runs on a local Ollama model on our own infrastructure — no OpenAI, no Google, no data brokers. Cloud LLM providers are opt-in only and clearly disclosed in the privacy policy if you choose to enable them.
Simplicity First
Financial tools should be easy to use, not complicated. We focus on creating intuitive experiences that anyone can understand.
Transparent Access
Everyone deserves clear pricing before setup. BillForecast Pro starts with a 3-day trial, then simple monthly or annual billing.
Built From Real Workflows
We focus on budgeting, recurring bills, receipts, and forecasting because those are the workflows people actually need in one place.
What We Optimize For
The product promises we try to keep visible everywhere
One Product Story
Clear positioning
BillForecast should read like one intentional product: privacy-first personal finance with forecasting.
Fewer Surprises
Forward visibility
Budgets work better when recurring commitments and future balances are visible at the same time.
Privacy by Default
Data restraint
No ads, no third-party analytics, and no need to hand over bank credentials just to start tracking.
